Cultivation Technician

Position: Cultivation Technician (1st or 2nd Shift)
Department: Cultivation
Division/Location: Florida - Palatka Grow Facility (160 Comfort Road, Palatka FL 32177)

Who we are:
At Eaze, we believe great cannabis should be easy to get. We pioneered on-demand cannabis delivery in California in 2014 and have grown into the state's largest legal cannabis marketplace, with more than 12 million deliveries completed and most orders arriving in under an hour. In Florida, we operate as Green Dragon, one of the state's largest medical cannabis retailers with nearly 40 dispensaries and our own cultivation and production. Wherever we serve, the standard is the same: trusted products, fair prices, and a team that shows up for the people who count on us.
Eaze is part of Vireo, one of the fastest-growing platforms in cannabis with roughly 4,500 team members, over 1 million square feet of cultivation, and more than 170 dispensaries across 10+ states. Every role here plays a real part in shaping where this industry goes next, and in return we offer real opportunities to grow, contribute, and make an impact. If you're ready to turn your passion into a career, let's grow the future together.

What we offer:

• Compensation: 15/hr
• Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance on the first of the month after you begin employment
• Competitive additional benefits including HSA, FSA, Dependable Care, EAP services, etc
• 11 days of accrued PTO in addition to 2 Wellness Days & Volunteer Hours that will increase with tenure

What the role is about:
The Cultivation Technician supports the day-to-day workflow of our Palatka grow facility, where the medical cannabis we sell across Florida is grown. This is hands-on farm work: trimming, packaging, moving material, cleaning, and jumping in wherever the day's production plan needs you. You'll work in grow rooms that are hot and humid in summer, cold in winter, loud, dusty, and intensely bright, with the strong smell of cannabis in the air all day. We're looking for people who show up on time, take ownership of their work, take direction well, and are willing to switch tasks whenever the crop calls for it.

What impact you'll make:

• Trim, package, and move plant material to keep production moving on schedule
• Keep your workspace and the facility clean, neat, and organized throughout every shift
• Follow standard operating procedures and direction from leads and managers without issue
• Move between tasks and work areas as the needs of the crop and the production plan change
• Hold a consistent quality standard on everything you touch, from trim to packaging
• Communicate clearly with teammates and leaders about progress, problems, and supplies
• Take ownership of your assignments and see them through to completion
• Support other cultivation and production duties as assigned

What you've accomplished:

• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to the Palatka facility
• Ability to obtain and maintain any state-required credentials for working in a licensed cannabis facility
• Previous experience in agriculture, cultivation, food handling, warehouse, or manufacturing is preferred but not required
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment
• Clear verbal and written communication skills

What it takes to succeed here:
Our cultivation leaders hire for attitude and work habits first. The people who thrive in this role consistently show these traits:

• Dependable and punctual, with a track record of showing up on time for every shift
• Accountable for your own actions and the quality of your work
• Coachable and willing to learn, with the ability to follow direction and adapt to change
• Flexible, with the ability to switch focus and move from one task to another based on the needs of the work and take assignments from management without issue
• Self-motivated, with strong initiative and a good work ethic
• Professional attitude and respect for other people
• A team player who communicates effectively with other employees and leaders
• Quality focused in everything you do

Working conditions & physical requirements:
This is a working farm environment. Please review the following carefully, as you will experience these conditions during every shift:

• Work in a hot/warm and humid environment for your entire shift during the summer months and a cold environment for your entire shift during the winter months
• Tolerate the uncomfortable sensations of a farming environment, including heat, bright lights, bugs, water, dirt, and dust in the air
• Tolerate VERY bright LED grow lights for extended periods; these lights have been known to trigger seizures in individuals who are susceptible to seizures
• Work in dark rooms using only a green head lamp
• Tolerate the VERY strong odor of cannabis in the air all day
• Tolerate a noisy work location
• Stand or sit for very long periods of time
• Kneel or crouch often and for long periods of time
• Perform tasks with your hands that require dexterity for long periods of time
• Occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
• Work on a high platform such as scaffolding for long periods of time without dizziness or issue
