About the Position

License: Active VA / Compact License required upon start. Certifications: NIH Stroke Scale - Expires, ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Charge experience preferred. Cerner preferred. Description: Replacing an existing staff member. This position involves working in an Intermediate Care Unit. The nurse will have charge responsibility and receive appropriate pay differential and training. There are opportunities for up to 20 week-long assignments to ensure adequate staffing during the holiday season. The traveler must work at least one major holiday. Work history must include explanation for all gaps in employment exceeding 90 days. Orientation occurs every other Monday only. The patient population includes a mix of medical-surgical, telemetry, cardiac IMCU acuity level patients, neuro patients, and CVA patients. The unit aims to follow a schedule of 2/3 weekends a month, subject to the needs of the unit. Limited requests for time off will be considered. The client reserves the right to cancel assignments up to 36 hours before scheduled shifts based on patient census. All team members are expected to contribute to a culture of support, especially when working with students and new hires. Floating is not required for this position.
