MRI Technologist

Location: Reno, NV

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: 3x12 shifts, varied hours. Call is required, with potential to float to department needs.

Job Description: The MRI Technologist will produce diagnostic MRI scans and assist radiologists and referring physicians in MRI procedures while ensuring quality patient care. The role requires a thorough understanding of technical skills and advanced physics necessary for efficient MRI operation. The incumbent will also perform other job duties as needed and must maintain a high standard of professionalism and diplomacy.

Responsibilities:

• Produce high-quality diagnostic MRI images.
• Assist radiologists and referring physicians in MRI procedures.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort during imaging procedures.
• Make technical decisions to optimize MRI image quality.
• Communicate effectively with patients and staff, maintaining professionalism under pressure.
• Participate in after-hours standby and callback as required.
• Navigate department and hospital computer systems effectively.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• ARRT certification in MRI is required.
• BLS certification (AHA) is required.
• Two years of MRI experience with GE or Philips Scanners is necessary.
