Bedford Campus Facilities Manager

The Bedford Campus Facilities Manager helps ensure the Bedford campus is safe, functional, welcoming, and ready for ministry. This hands-on role identifies and addresses facility needs, performs basic maintenance, coordinates repairs and outside services, cares for the building and grounds, and helps ensure campus spaces support the mission of Sherwood Oaks Christian Church. The Facilities Manager brings initiative, sound judgment, flexibility, and a servant's heart to the work, recognizing that caring well for our facilities is one way we care for the people who use them.

Primary Responsibilities Facility Maintenance & Readiness

• Regularly inspect the building and property for maintenance, repair, safety, and appearance needs.
• Perform routine and basic repairs; promptly identify needs that require specialized expertise or significant expense.
• Address issues involving classrooms, offices, restrooms, common areas, doors, lighting, fixtures, and other building systems.
• Keep campus spaces functional, orderly, and ready for Sunday services, ministry programs, and special events.
• Maintain organized storage, maintenance, and garage areas.

Grounds & Exterior

• Oversee the general appearance, condition, and safety of the campus grounds and exterior.
• Coordinate or assist with mowing, trimming, weed control, landscaping, tree care, litter removal, and seasonal needs.
• Help maintain outdoor equipment, including mowers, trimmers, blowers, and power washers.
• Coordinate snow and ice removal from sidewalks and entrances as needed.

Repairs, Vendors & Projects

• Serve as the Bedford campus point person for routine facility repair needs.
• Determine whether needs should be handled personally, by volunteers, or through an outside contractor.
• Coordinate vendors, contractors, inspections, preventative maintenance, and approved repair work.
• Assist with minor improvements, furniture movement, and event setup as needed.
• Communicate significant needs, proposed expenditures, and project recommendations before commitments are made.
