Sr. Process Engineer, Life Science

What You’ll Do Work individually and in teams to support capital projects and implement solutions for clients, helping them make critical changes to improve performance and achieve their goals. Serve as a senior process engineer, guiding a process engineering team on a broad range of life‑sciences projects, with potential leadership at client sites. Perform process mechanical design as part of multi‑discipline project teams in an A&E environment, executing system engineering from conceptual planning to final detail design for projects ranging from enhancements and optimization to new greenfield construction. Collaborate with client personnel (Manufacturing, Facilities, Maintenance, Quality, and Validation) to ensure systems meet Good Manufacturing Practices and regulatory requirements. Draft process flow diagrams, conduct energy and mass balances, cycle‑time and bottleneck analyses, equipment selection, sizing and specifications, utility requirement matrices, gap analyses, and develop process construction documents including P&IDs, equipment general arrangement drawings, piping plans, operator access platforms, line and tie‑in lists, installation specifications, BOMs, scopes of work, etc. Interface with OEMs and vendors for equipment sizing and selection, direct CAD designers, coordinate design with controls/automation, utilities, and building systems. Provide onsite support for system testing, start‑up, commissioning, and qualification, and assist in preparing proposals and project scopes. Stay abreast of new technologies, emerging trends, and current Good Manufacturing Practices. What You’ll Bring Minimum 10 years of pharmaceutical and biologics process system engineering/design experience, with knowledge of CIP/SIP, support equipment (washers, autoclaves, lyophilizers), and high‑purity water systems (WFI, RODI). Working knowledge of process definition means and methods, including identification of required unit operations. Experience with FDA and EMA regulatory standards and process control methodologies, instrumentation, functional specifications, and automation engineering. Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to collaborate with team members and clients. Computer skills: basic AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project. Familiarity with 3D modeling, hydraulic analysis, and process simulation software is a plus. Willingness and ability to travel as required for project installation, start‑up, client meetings, trainings, seminars, forums, or conventions. BS degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Bioengineering (other engineering degrees considered based on experience). Pay and Benefits The approximate pay range for this position is $120,000‑$160,000. The pay range is a good faith estimate and final compensation may vary based on experience and geographic location. Travel is required as necessary for project installation, start‑up, client meetings, company‑sponsored meetings, trainings, industry seminars, forums, or conventions.
