Job Title: Sr. Associate, Process Manufacturing Engineer Job ID: 38409 Job Location: Canoga Park, CA Job Schedule: 9/80: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked – and have every other Friday off Job Description We are seeking a Senior Associate, Manufacturing Engineer to join Operations Space Propulsion and Power Systems (SP&PS) team in Canoga Park, CA. The position will work under moderate supervision, independently on larger moderately complex projects, set objectives for own job area, and may provide guidance for entry level professionals and/or support level employees. This position will be responsible for mechanical component manufacturing, assembly, and integration into rocket engine and power systems products. Responsibilities include designing and planning tooling, material handling, planning the sequence of operations, and specifying procedures. Essential Functions Managing Projects: Manage processes in accordance with Lean methodology, including process certification, improvement methods (Kaizen, 3P, VSM, etc.), and other lean tools. Prepare, develop, and defend to management key strategic manufacturing plans, risk assessments, and proposals that target customer and business goals. Differentiate suppliers based on technical and business capability. Develop rework dispositions and work instructions for a wide variety of components, assemblies, and materials. Developing and Implementing Manufacturing and Assembly Processes Improvements: Determine tooling requirements to safely support and maintain dimensional requirements, determine machine loading, setups, and hardware handling instructions. Change Management: Use engineering and business software (Creo CAD, Windchill PLM, Oracle MRP & MES, MS Office, and/or other CAD/virtual manufacturing tools/software) to monitor hardware design configuration updates, specification updates, and procedure updates, then incorporate necessary changes to manufacturing support items to maintain alignment and compliance. Support design change reviews. Tight Tolerance Assembly/Stack‑up Dimensioning Support: Determine complex design GD&T for various assemblies and measuring methods that meet specifications, tooling, and equipment requirements. Verify sealing surfaces and ensure assemblies meet drawing requirements. Perform risk assessments to ensure risks to personnel and environment are eliminated and that risks to hardware and facility are accurately assessed and communicated to management. A small amount of travel may be required depending on actual assignment. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience. Preferred Qualifications Pressure Test experience. In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in the State of California is $73,000 - $136,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary; final offer may vary based on experience and geographic location.
