Orthodontic Assistant
Location: Lodi, California
Job Type: Full-Time (MTWR) / Part-Time (MT)
Estimated Pay: $22.00 – $30.00 per hour (Dependent on experience)
We are a thriving private orthodontic practice in Lodi looking for a dedicated Orthodontic Assistant to join our close-knit team! Whether you are a seasoned assistant looking for a long-term home or a motivated new dental professional eager to learn orthodontics, we want to hear from you. We provide top-tier mentorship and hands-on training for those new to the specialty.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for orthodontic exams and treatments.
- Assist the Orthodontist during bondings, adjustments, and debondings.
- Take high-quality X-rays and digital impressions using iTero scanners.
- Educate patients and parents on oral hygiene, braces care, and aligner wear.
- Sterilize instruments and maintain strict infection control protocols.
- Document detailed treatment notes in orthodontic software.
Requirements & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- California Dental Board Dental Assistant (DA) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license.
- Valid California X-ray certification.
- Active CPR/BLS certification.
- Experience in orthodontics is highly preferred.
- Strong communication skills and a team-player attitude.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a passion for patient care.
- Experienced candidates: Prior orthodontic chairside experience is highly valued.
- New candidates: A strong desire to learn and commit to long term growth with the practice; we are happy to train the right person!
