The Senior User Experience Designer (individual contributor) will design high-impact trading experiences across Schwab.com and Schwab's iOS and Android apps. You will turn complex financial workflows into clear, accessible experiences, guide work from discovery through delivery, and raise the bar for craft across the product ecosystem. Your work will help millions of Schwab clients manage their financial lives with greater clarity and confidence. You will influence highly visible experiences used by retail clients and advisors, learn alongside an engaged design community, and help define what excellent trading experiences look like. Your responsibilities include: Leading product design from early discovery through launch and iteration, turning client needs, business goals, and data into thoughtful solutions Designing cohesive interactions for responsive web and native mobile experiences, with careful attention to layout, typography, color, motion, and user interaction with the system Simplifying data-intensive trading workflows without losing the power and precision experienced investors expect Using and evolving the Schwab design system, creating consistent, scalable patterns and components Partnering with product managers, software developers, researchers, content strategists, accessibility specialists, and business partners in an Agile environment Facilitating problem framing and ideation, communicating a clear design point of view, and using rationale and storytelling to move decisions forward Leading cross-disciplinary UX efforts, identifying risks early, and helping teams find practical paths through ambiguity Championing accessible, inclusive, and high-quality experiences at every stage Your approach includes: Getting to know client motivations, their goals, and the moments where complexity gets in their way Balancing progress with craft, learning through iteration rather than waiting for perfection Building trust by setting clear expectations, inviting feedback, and adapting when new information arrives Supporting teammates while maintaining strong standards for quality, consistency, and follow-through Using various communication techniques to showcase work and persuade through rationale and storytelling Focusing on solutions while partnering across disciplines to keep projects moving forward Leveraging AI tools to augment and accelerate the UX process On your resume, please include a link to a digital portfolio of your relevant work; make sure to include any passwords required. Your portfolio should show how you solve product experience problems, work within established patterns, and bring interaction design, visual clarity, and user needs together across digital touchpoints. We are especially interested in the problem you were solving, the role you played, the decisions you made, and the impact of the work. Required qualifications include: 6+ years of product design experience with digital products, supported by an online portfolio that shows your process and design thinking 1+ year experience with touch-based mobile interfaces Experience designing data-intensive applications, a background in financial services and ideally a knowledge of brokerage platforms Deep knowledge of user-centered design, including research, flows, wireframes, interaction design, visual design, prototyping, and content specifications Experience running design sessions with cross-functional teams Experience designing accessible solutions and participating in accessibility testing Experience collaborating in multidisciplinary Agile teams and facilitating cross-functional design sessions Fluency with Figma and modern design systems Experience effectively integrating AI tools such as Copilot, Figma Make, MCPs, Vercel, or similar technologies into the design process to improve efficiency, deepen insights, and enhance design outcomes Preferred qualifications include: Strong communication, relationship-building, and self-management skills, including the ability to guide complex work with substantial ownership In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
