Compensation Rate: $15.50 per hour (Eligible for Tipped Pool Program)What you get to do:You’ll prepare high quality food that meets United Parks & Resorts standards by following menu specifications. You will follow all safety and HACCP guidelines, use proper protective gear, and test food temperatures. You will also:Oversee final prepared food qualityCook high-quality food to menu specificationsUtilize advanced and non-automated kitchen equipment, including open flame char grill, smokers, steam kettles, woks and large bakery machineryComplete food prep by cutting and chopping of vegetables, fruits and meatsAssemble wraps, sandwiches, salads, fruit cups, etc.Keep all assigned areas clean and sanitaryIncorporate knowledge of top eight allergens into the preparation of dietary mealsInteract with Ambassadors and guests and deliver excellent servicePerform other duties as assignedWhat it takes to succeed:Ability to work with all food types, including food allergens, in any dining facilityAt least one year of cooking experience or a combination of cooking experience and culinary schoolBasic knife skillsAbility to pass SafeStaff training and RCS Responsible Vendor Training (alcohol)Ability to train on and use protective gear and kitchen equipmentAbility to multitask in a fast-paced, high-production environmentAbility to prepare special dietary mealsCommunicate professionally and effectively with Ambassadors, Vendors and our GuestsValid state driver's license preferredIn-depth food safety and allergen knowledge a plusPerform other duties as assignedWhat else is important:Able to lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 50 lbs.Position engages in extensive walking and standing throughout entire work shift and climb/ascend heights, if neededPerform the following physical activities: kneeling, squatting, bend floor-to waist/waist-to-overhead, reach overhead, simple grasp and fine hand manipulation tasks (use of tools/keyboard/writing)Able to work indoors and outdoors, in varying weather, to include extreme heat.
