Our ideal candidate is passionate, creative, and curious about full-stack web development. Candidates must be familiar with React, Java, and object-oriented design.The Associate Software Engineer is responsible for building Member Web, the member-facing application that enables our digital health management platform. They accomplish this by working closely with other engineers, product managers, and designers. Success in this role is demonstrated by translating business requirements that have an impact on patient care into high-quality solutions coded with security and privacy best practices in mind.With Wellframe, we reimagine healthcare relationships through a new approach that uses high-tech to deliver the high-touch support people need, when and where they need it. The complete suite of solutions from HealthEdge delivers a digital foundation for payers specifically designed to fuel a digital transformation, reduce costs, and improve both clinical outcomes and the member experience.What you will do:Design, develop and test new features in an existing code base.Develop full stack web development expertise with React, Java, Ruby on Rails, and Postgres.Validate design approach with other team members.Contribute to code reviews and other team processes.Write unit tests, and support the automation team.Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to improve member experience.What you bring:Bachelor's degree or equivalent, in computer science, computer engineering, or related field.Training or other professional exposure (such as boot camp or internship) for web development with React or other modern Javascript framework.Effective communication skills.Passionate about leveraging technical skills to help improve patient care.Nice to have:Experience with React developmentExperience with TypeScriptFamiliarity with Postgres or other relational database.Experience with Material-UI (MUI) or other component librariesExperience with modern front-end state management (Redux, Context API, etc.)Experience with Java.Previous experience in a startup environment.Experience in the healthcare tech industry.Previous experience in a remote or a hybrid environment.Geographic Responsibility: Remote, USType of Employment: Full-time, permanentWork Environment: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:The employee is occasionally required to move around the office. This salary range may cover multiple career levels at HealthEdge. Final compensation will be determined during the interview process and is based on a combination of factors including, but not limited to, your skills, experience, qualifications and education.
