Under the direction of the Nurse Director, functions as a member of the Float Team to implement the patient’s plan of care. Provides population specific care and meets the developmental needs of populations served. Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required. Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire. ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire. Handle with Care preferred. One (1) to Two (2) years of bedside RN experience required. Two (2) to Four (4) years of Critical Care experience preferred. Tier 1 Float specialties: Nephrology/Oncology (NEON), 4N, Neuro Progressive Care Unit, Nursing Rehab, Telemetry, Progressive Stepdown Unit (IMCU), Surgical Unit. Certifications for Tier I: BLS required for all; ACLS and NIH within 3 months of hire or transfer as applicable. Tier 2: Meet all Tier 1 criteria and be competent to float to two specialty areas: Cardiovascular Unit (CVICU), Critical Care Unit (CCU), Neuro Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Emergency Department (ED), Labor/Delivery/Recovery (L&D). Certifications required: BLS for all; ACLS, NIH, Handle with Care within three months of hire or transfer as applicable. Additional certifications: ASLS and TNCC preferred for ED; NRP and fetal monitoring for LDRP; NRP for Nursery. Tier I: $54.81 Tier II: $60.90 Minimum Work Experience At least two (2) years experience as a Registered Nurse required (unless previous LPN experience).
