About the Facility – Uintah and Ouray Health Center

Leave the hazards of urban life behind and apply your skills to a wide scope of health care. This ambulatory 40-hour facility is staffed by physicians, physician's assistants, nurse practitioners, and dental, optometry, and psychology providers. They provide comprehensive public health services including general medical, surgical follow-up, pediatric, prenatal and postpartum care. Dental, behavioral health, and optometry services are also available. Other clinical specialties are provided by visiting consultants and are scheduled periodically. Patients requiring more complex medical care are referred to the hospital or other contract facilities.

• Years of Experience: minimum of (2) years of experience within the respective specialty.
• Minimum Education: A.S. Degree from an Accredited Dental Assistant School Program or,
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree, preferred.
• Need to be a registered dental hygienist.
• Applicants must have an active, unrestricted, and free of disciplinary action license as a dental hygienist in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States.

Dental Hygienist Responsibilities:

• Work closely with dentist to perform dental screening exams, assist with dental procedures and instrumentation.
• Perform sterilization procedures in regards to dental and clinic instruments
• Provide patient education
• Perform dental cleanings and any other procedure authorized by the dental hygienist's State license and training.
