We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to support a fast-paced organization in Houston, Texas within the Oil & Gas field services sector. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who brings strong experience across payroll and benefits administration and can manage a high-volume, multi-state payroll environment with accuracy and consistency. The role will focus on ensuring timely bi-weekly payroll processing for a large employee population while helping maintain compliance with applicable union, tax, and benefits requirements.

Responsibilities:
• Process end-to-end bi-weekly payroll for more than 500 employees across multiple locations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
• Administer payroll activities for employees working in up to nine states, including proper handling of state-specific tax and wage requirements.
• Review payroll data, earnings, deductions, and adjustments to identify and resolve discrepancies before final submission.
• Support benefits-related payroll functions by coordinating deductions, enrollments, changes, and reconciliations with accuracy.
• Manage union payroll components, including applicable pay rules, deductions, and reporting obligations.
• Maintain employee payroll records in ADP Workforce Now and ensure updates are entered correctly for new hires, status changes, and terminations.
• Respond to payroll and benefits inquiries from employees and internal stakeholders in a thorough and timely manner.
• Partner with internal teams to reconcile payroll reports, support audits, and assist with compliance documentation as needed.• Hands-on experience processing full-cycle payroll in a high-volume environment.
• Background managing multi-state payroll for large employee populations of 500 or more.
• Working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now.
• Experience supporting both payroll and benefits administration.
• Familiarity with union payroll practices and related compliance considerations.
• Strong understanding of payroll taxes, deductions, garnishments, and reconciliation processes.
• High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail in payroll processing.
