Imagine a career where each day empowers lives through the power of speech. As a Speech Language Pathologist in the charming city of Madison, your contributions go far beyond the treatment of communication and swallowing disorders. Here, you will inspire growth, restore confidence, and foster deep connections — whether it's with toddlers experiencing their very first words or seniors regaining independence in their daily lives.
This position offers a remarkable chance to support individuals of all ages in a therapeutic environment that combines outpatient therapy with occasional inpatient care. Your passion for pediatric speech development, adult neurogenic speech disorders, or cognitive-linguistic rehabilitation for the elderly will find a welcoming home in our team.
Description
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations for patients across the pediatric to geriatric spectrum utilizing standardized assessments and observational techniques.
- Create individualized treatment plans that tackle both immediate goals and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing challenges.
- Deliver personalized speech therapy interventions emphasizing communication, language development, fluency, voice, and swallowing techniques.
- Work in conjunction with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to ensure a coordinated approach to patient care.
- Provide educational support to patients and their families to encourage continued progress outside of therapy sessions.
- Take part in occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions, maintaining a seamless continuum of care throughout the patient's journey.
- Ensure proper documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational protocols.
- Engage in ongoing education and collaboration with peers to stay abreast of advancements in the field.
Education
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not currently ASHA-certified.
Certifications
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
Skills
- Expertise in evidence-based treatment methods for diverse age groups, with a profound understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing issues.
- Exceptional interpersonal abilities to connect with patients, families, and a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Capability to adapt therapeutic techniques to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Strong analytical skills and clinical judgment.
- Familiarity with electronic health records and documentation practices.
Benefits
- Attractive salary reflective of experience.
- Flexible scheduling to ensure a harmonious work-life balance along with varied caseloads.
- Potential to specialize in pediatric, adult neurorehabilitation, or geriatric care.
- Paid time off (PTO) and holiday compensation.
- Options for medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
- Support for continuing education and career development.
- A collaborative environment fostering teamwork and a commitment to quality care.
A Transformative Career Awaits — Where Each Word Matters
In this role, you're not just another Speech Language Pathologist — you are an essential part of a mission dedicated to restoring voices, enhancing communication, and creating treasured moments through understanding.
You'll collaborate with colleagues who support each other like family, in a setting where teamwork triumphs over competition. Each patient has a unique narrative; we trust your expertise to help shape their stories.
