Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Taylorsville, NC is looking for a dependable and experienced Cook to join our dietary team! Position Overview The Cook is responsible for preparing and serving nutritious, home-style meals while following resident dietary needs, planned menus, food safety standards, and sanitation guidelines. We are looking for someone who is dependable, organized, team-oriented, and takes pride in providing quality meals and excellent service to our residents. Schedule Full-Time Position Monday through Friday Every Other Weekend Required Consistent schedule in a supportive skilled nursing environment Key Responsibilities Prepare and serve meals according to planned menus and resident dietary needs Follow recipes, portion control standards, and food preparation guidelines Accommodate special diets and texture modifications as required Monitor food quality and temperatures during preparation and meal service Ensure meals are prepared and served in a timely and professional manner Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations Assist with food inventory, proper storage, and supply rotation Work collaboratively with dietary staff, nursing teams, and facility leadership Qualifications Previous cooking experience in healthcare, long-term care, restaurant, or institutional food service preferred High school diploma or GED preferred Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and dietary guidelines Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Strong communication and teamwork skills ServSafe certification preferred or willingness to obtain Dependable attendance and a positive, team-focused attitude Ability to work every other weekend as scheduled What We Offer Competitive Pay Based on Experience Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance Paid Time Off (PTO) and Holiday Pay 401(k) with Employer Match Supportive Leadership and Team-Oriented Culture Opportunities for Career Growth and Advancement A rewarding opportunity to make a difference in residents' daily lives #J-18808-Ljbffr
