Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Job Summary:

Provide specialized nursing care to patients on the Medical Surgical unit, ensuring high-quality patient outcomes through clinical expertise and compassionate support. Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team in a fast-paced environment to meet patient needs.

Responsibilities:

• Administer and monitor medications and treatments according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
• Perform hourly safety rounds and bedside shift reports to ensure patient safety and effective communication.
• Document patient care accurately and thoroughly in the Meditech system.
• Respond promptly to patient needs and escalate concerns to the charge nurse as necessary.
• Assist with procedures and provide patient education to promote recovery and well-being.
• Support float assignments to similar units, maintaining flexibility based on hospital needs.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license recognized in South Carolina.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Med Surg nursing experience.
• BLS certification (required) and NIH Stroke Scale (preferred or can be obtained upon hire).
• Strong clinical skills in neuro and medical-surgical patient care.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work evening shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, including every other weekend and holiday rotation.
