About the Job: Onit is seeking a Corporate Counsel with 3–5 years of experience to support our expanding business operations. The successful candidate will handle a wide range of legal matters including internal policy matters—privacy, security and AI compliance; litigation; IP management; and labor/employment matters. This role requires excellent judgment, adaptability, and a practical, business‑oriented mindset. Key Responsibilities: Provide guidance on compliance with global data protection and privacy regulations, including GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and other emerging frameworks. Partner with Information Security and Compliance teams to support SOC2, ISO27001, and other certification processes. Assist in developing and maintaining AI governance and compliance programs consistent with evolving AI legislation and ethical guidelines. Assist Compliance and Contracts team members to review/respond to customer and/or vendor related contract language and issues. Collaborate with the Marketing team to review marketing collateral, website content, social media materials, and product communications to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and brand standards. Provide proactive legal advice on advertising and promotional claims, copyright usage, and trademark considerations. Required Skills: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school. Active license and in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar. 3–5 years of relevant legal experience, ideally with both law firm and in‑house exposure. Strong analytical, drafting, and negotiation skills with the ability to translate complex legal issues into clear business guidance. Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to cross‑functional teamwork. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, growth‑oriented environment. $125,000 - $150,000 a year Bonus: 10% At Onit, we’re committed to offering fair and competitive compensation.
