Job Description Summary We are seeking an exceptional and self-motivated Principal Algorithms Engineer to join our growing R&D team at Becton, Dickinson and Company located in Irvine, California. Responsibilities Include Lead the development of advanced algorithms for patient monitoring using machine learning and signal processing techniques Perform statistical data analyses to characterize performance of algorithms Collaborate with clinicians to conduct clinical trials and publish scientific articles Collaborate with cross-functional team on regulatory submissions and launching products Qualifications Required PhD degree in electrical engineering, computer science, biomedical engineering, statistics, or relevant field is required Strong programming skills in Python or MATLAB is required Strong experience with deep reinforcement learning is required Strong experience with general machine learning and deep learning techniques (CNN, LSTM, Transformer, etc.) is required Strong experience in digital signal processing, mathematical modeling and algorithm development is required Strong statistical data analysis skill is required Highly motivated self-starter who is able to achieve results with minimal direction Experience working with biomedical time series data (arterial blood pressure, ECG, EEG, etc) is a plus Experience with control theory is a plus Knowledge of patient monitoring and human physiology is a plus Depending on background and experience, candidate may be considered at lower or higher levels.
