About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 - 19:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Active RN License Certifications: Required certifications Must-Have: Acute medical/surgical experience of 1+ years within the last year Ability to care for 4-6 patients at a time Description: Data Collection: 05/04/2026. Unit consists of 8 inpatient beds plus 8 admission unit beds. Occasionally, the unit can flex up to 12 inpatient beds depending on overall hospital census. Staff includes 10 members. Day shift staffing typically includes 1 charge nurse, 2 RNs, and 1 PCA. Night shift staffing typically includes 1 charge nurse, 2 RNs, and 1 PCA. Patient ratios are a maximum of 6:1. Standard EMR used is Meditech. The unit typically cares for medical/surgical patients. The most recruited skill set includes acute medical/surgical experience and the ability to manage multiple patients. Preferred qualifications include 2+ years of acute medical/surgical experience within the last year. Experience in orthopedic or neurosurgery is preferred, but a medical/surgical/telemetry background is sufficient. Typical procedures performed include IV insertions, urinary catheter insertion and maintenance, central line maintenance, medication administration, communication with the care team, and documentation in the electronic health record. Ideal candidates should be friendly, positive, patient-centered, and team-focused. Floating areas typically include medical/surgical units. The dress code requires scrubs. Weekends are normally rotating, but flexibility is necessary.
