This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Columbia Area Mental Health Center, Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Program, CAMHC #413.
As the Mental Health Professional II, working under general supervision, you will provide clinical leadership and oversight to the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Program and manage team operations and staffing.
Responsibilities for this Mental Health Professional II:
- Oversee the administrative operations of the ACT team.
- Provide clinical oversight of services ensuring patients are seen in accordance with their needs and the delivery of best and ethical practices.
- Provide direct services to ACT service beneficiaries.
- Ensure services are documented in accordance to Office of Mental Health (OMH) Quality Assurance (QA) requirements.
- Provide direct supervision to ACT team members to include but not limited to: facilitating clinical supervision meetings, treatment team meetings, coordinating training for team and completing evaluations.
- Respond to telephone messages, emails, team messages, and inter-office mail in a timely manner.
- Comply with the Office of Mental Health Compliance Plan and all legal responsibilities and requirements in performing their job duties.
Minimum and Additional Requirements:
- A master's degree in guidance, counseling, the social science or related field, and professional experience in a mental health, human service or social service program.
- Three (3) years' experience working with adults diagnosed with serious and persistent mental illness and a minimum of two years post graduate experience.
- Licensed as a psychologist, LISW, LISW-CP, LMFT, or LPC in the state of South Carolina (SC).
In order to be credentialed for core services as a Mental Health Professional at the SC Office of Mental Health, applicants must provide evidence of clinical experience providing direct patient care. This experience may be documented as a practicum or internship during graduate program, or post-graduate clinical experience. Preferred Qualifications:
- Supervisory experience.
- Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.
Additional Comments:
- Have practical therapeutic knowledge of principles, methods and counseling practices and procedures for the diagnosis and treatment of serious and persistent mental illness.
- Have the ability to listen, understand and communicate information and ideas so that others will understand.
- Have some knowledge of psychopathology, family dynamics, family and group psychotherapy.
- Have the ability to identify and effectively utilize resources available in the community to accomplish objectives.
- Have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals, families and representatives of other professional disciplines.
- Have the ability to present clear and comprehensive oral and written reports.
- Have the ability to organize and manage time.
- Be able to lift 5 pounds and operate a state vehicle.
- Be able to pass CPR and Managing Agitation in the Psychiatric Setting (MAPS) Certification.
