Kindergarten Assistant - Immediate Hire

Prairie Hill Waldorf School is seeking an immediate full-time Kindergarten Assistant to join our Early Childhood faculty. The ideal candidate is joyful, warm, and collaborative, with a deep appreciation for young children and a commitment to the principles of Waldorf education. About the Role The Kindergarten Assistant works closely with the Lead Kindergarten Teacher and the Early Childhood department to help create a nurturing, orderly, and beautiful learning environment. The hours are 7:30 am-4:00 pm Monday-Friday (30 minute unpaid break). Responsibilities Include: Classroom set up and clean up Supporting the lead teacher with the children during outdoor and indoor play and activities Assisting with lunch preparation and transitions Guiding children into bathroom and rest time through songs, stories, and gentle care Supporting children as they rise and clean up after rest time Attending weekly Early Childhood mentor meetings and monthly department meetings Qualifications: Prior teaching or childcare experience required Waldorf training or certification strongly preferred Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills Ability and willingness to work collaboratively within a community environment Effective classroom management skills Enthusiasm for teaching, learning, and teamwork Position Details Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM (30-minute unpaid break) Pay Rate: $16.50/hour About Prairie Hill Waldorf School Founded in 1987, Prairie Hill Waldorf School is a full member of AWSNA and WECAN, serving 179 students from Pre‑K through Grade 8.
