Position Summary A Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) provides specialized care to pregnant patients during labor, childbirth, and immediate recovery after delivery. L&D nurses monitor maternal and fetal health, assist physicians and midwives during deliveries, administer medications, and support patients and families throughout the birthing process.   Key Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor maternal and fetal vital signs
• Assist during vaginal and cesarean deliveries
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and epidurals as ordered
• Monitor labor progression and recognize complications
• Educate and emotionally support patients and families
• Coordinate care with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, and neonatal teams
• Document patient care and delivery details accurately
• Respond to obstetric emergencies
• Provide immediate newborn care after delivery

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• ADN or BSN degree
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification often required
