Staff Accountant

Creative Financial Staffing has partnered with a nonprofit education organization in Boston, MA, seeking a Staff Accountant to join their team.

Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant:

• Overseeing full-cycle accounts payable including approving vendor invoices and coding them properly
• Managing payments including checks, ACH, wire transfers, and cash disbursements
• Reconciling vendor statements and communicate with vendors regarding questions or discrepancies
• Spearheading the 1099 audits for quarter-end and year-end
• Processing payroll on a bi-monthly basis and creating payroll-related journal entries
• Onboarding new and offboarding terminated employees in the HRIS
• Maintaining payroll records, resolving any payroll discrepancies, and answering employee payroll-related questions
• Administering benefits enrollments, 401(k) plan contributions, and related reconciliations
• Generating payroll reports for the HR and accounting departments, as requested

Background Expected of the Staff Accountant:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or experience equivalent (+4 years)
• 5+ years of experience in an accounting role including accounts payable and payroll responsibilities
• QuickBooks experience preferred

Salary Range, Depending on Experience:
$70,000 - 78,000
