SARASOTA MANATEE AIRPORT AUTHORITY Job Code : 1027 Grade : 27 Job Title : Accounts Receivable Specialist Reports To : Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer Department : Finance and Human Resources FLSA Status : Non-Exempt Current Starting Salary Range : $41,597 - $47,836 Salary Grade Range as of October 1, 2025 : $45,106 - $67,659 Job Summary Under general supervision, performs accounts receivable functions, generates statistical reports, and performs other Finance Department functions. Job Responsibilities Generate invoices for billing of airlines, tenants, car rentals, concessionaires, and others. Post cash received from tenants, non‑tenants, PFC's and daily mailbox and ACH deposits; prepare a deposit slip at least once a month for all cash received and Canadian checks at the local branch. Deposit all checks via scanner for Operating, PFC and USS accounts. Contact individuals to resolve discrepancies when needed. Monitor Authorize.net software and balance monthly for all credit card payments. Monitor all Fee Abatement Flights to generate credit memos. Reconcile all bank accounts monthly. Monitor all accounts receivable accounts through the accounting software and prepare monthly reports. Research and compile information for landing fees, market share, passenger utilization, concession reports, activity, and accounts receivable reports for review by the Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, or designee; distribute reports to appropriate personnel in accordance with a predetermined schedule. Maintain and reconcile certain asset accounts monthly; generate recurring and other journal entries. Maintain tenant billing module, which includes adding customers and assigning and setting up revenue codes. Upload invoices into Coupa and Invoice Works for Airline Tenants. Monitor and send delinquency reports to Properties Department for all tenants; responsible for sending letters to all non‑tenants. Create and maintain reports. Prepare and transmit sales tax reports to Manatee and Sarasota Counties. Assist Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer to compile information for budget and annual audit. Scan all accounts receivable related files and documents into Laserfiche. Perform other related duties as required. Materials and Equipment Used Computer, Calculator, Office Machines Qualifications Education and Experience Three years accounting experience. Two years college degree in accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year‑to‑year basis for experience. Excel proficiency as demonstrated by the ability to pass an Excel test. Licenses and Certifications None. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of general accounting and computer operations. Knowledge of Airport operations and services (preferred). Knowledge of federal, state and local laws, FAA rules and regulations, and airport policies relating to financial management, accounting, and grant administration (preferred). Ability to research documents and make recommendations. Ability to analyze data. Ability to pay attention to detail. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, fellow employees, and the general public. Physical Requirements The Accounts Receivable Specialist must be diligent in adhering to all work‑related safety rules, procedures and regulations and take the precautions necessary to comply with the Airport Authority safety policy. Mental Requirements As an Accounts Receivable Specialist, the employee must have the mental capacity to provide support to all departments; must be capable of successfully interacting with employees, outside agencies and the general public; develop and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, fellow employees, outside agencies and the general public and have the mental capacity to provide support to the Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer. Environmental Requirements The Accounts Receivable Specialist generally works in an office environment.
