Construction Materials TechnicianThe Construction Materials Technician will effectively communicate with project personnel, materials technicians, clients, and contractor representatives regarding construction activities, project requirements, testing, observation, and inspection needs and results. The role involves transporting samples to the laboratory for further testing and analysis, and preparing and submitting electronic daily test and observation reports. The position requires comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions and the ability to lift 50 to 75 pounds.ResponsibilitiesPerform routine to complex sampling and testing of soils, aggregates, concrete, masonry, and asphalt.Provide clear documentation of field activities entered daily in electronic format.Work with project team and lead technicians to ensure project specifications are followed.Assist with training and mentoring of junior staff, as needed.Essential SkillsExcellent plan reading skills.Demonstrated technical aptitude.Flexibility to work extended or nontraditional hours as needed.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.A High School diploma or equivalent.2+ years of construction materials testing experience.ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Certification.A strong safety focus and attention to detail.A valid driver's license and a good driving history.Additional Skills & QualificationsMnDOT or ICC certifications are a plus.Work EnvironmentThe work environment involves working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
