About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med Surg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN Certifications: BLS, ACLS, EKG/cardiac rhythm identification Must-Have: Cardiac/telemetry knowledge, EKG rhythm identification Description: ACLS required. Will accept 48-hour guarantee. Unit consists of 30 cardiac med-surg beds. Patient ratios are 1:6. Each shift is staffed with 6 nurses and a charge nurse to assist. There is a unit secretary present on dayshift. Three Patient Care Technicians are available per shift. The unit manages both titrated and non-titratable cardiac drips. Titrated drips include Cardizem and heparin. Non-titratable drips include dopamine, dobutamine, and amiodarone. Self-scheduling options are available. The unit is equipped with telemetry capabilities. Type of equipment includes GE telemetry, portable WOWs, and Welch-Allen VS machines. Documentation system used is Meditech. Scheduling requires three full 12-hour shifts with 3-4 weekend shifts per 4-week period. Floating policy involves rotation with other travel nurses. Patient experience requirements are managed through NRC. Advanced skills needed include familiarity with cardiac medications/drips. Procedures performed on the unit are not specified. Dress code requires navy blue scrubs. The unit has received recognition for high employee satisfaction scores. There are 12 internal awards for both employees and leaders. The unit features 12 lead EKG technology.
