If you are looking for a meaningful, mission driven career, Join FSA!ResponsibilitiesAssists the legal team by tracing, reviewing, and analyzing financial records from investigations to determine the source and delivery of funds, and the nature and volume of transactions. This includes understanding account relationships, following criminal proceeds and identifying assets and funds that meet thresholds and legal requirements for forfeiture.Assists prosecutors in preparing for court proceedings by developing legal theories for forfeiture and preparing exhibits, charts, and abstracts of the financial evidence.Performs other duties as assigned.Note: Preference will be given to candidates with strong Microsoft Excel skills.RequirementsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; CPA certification preferredThree-years accounting, finance, or other related experienceStrong organizational and prioritization skills, and ability to work with minimal supervisionExcellent communication skills; oral and writtenIntermediate experience with the Microsoft Office suite of applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), and other common software applications and databases, advanced skills are preferredProven commitment and expertise to provide excellent customer service; positive and flexible; ability to multi-taskAbility to work in a team environment, deliver the highest quality of work, and maintain a professional disposition under extreme pressurePreferred ExperienceRetired / former federal investigator with experience in financial fraud cases. Prior investigative experience is a must.Strong analytical skills in banking and fraud investigations - able to process and analyze records in Excel and also do macros as needed.Familiarity with how FBI and other agencies keep their records, able to forecast trends occurring in cases related to cyber enabled fraud.Strong interpersonal skills that can take direction and also organize multiple stakeholders on various topics related to USAO cases. Prior project management skills extremely helpful to include briefing high level stakeholders within government and at large corporations.Preference will be given to applicants with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.This position requires U.S. Citizenship and a 7 (or 10) year minimum background investigation.Agency OverviewThe United States Attorney's Office (USAO) serves as the nation's principal litigators under the direction of the Attorney General.
