Position Summary
An Office Assistant, Classification D, serves as the primary coordinator for all substitute staffing and staff time-off requests, ensuring every classroom is covered and daily logistics run smoothly. Working closely with one of the assistant principals, this position maintains emergency response protocols and acts as a central communication hub during drills or active crises to ensure school safety. This position is responsible for the logistical execution of major school milestones, specifically leading the planning, vendor coordination, and student records for Graduation ceremonies. To ensure a cohesive environment, this position provides high-level administrative support and completes additional duties as assigned to keep the school's daily operations organized and efficient.
Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent. Intermediate computer skills. Must have the ability to use Microsoft Office products. Interest in working in a school district environment. Knowledge of district and school policies and procedures. Detail-oriented with proven ability to be consistently accurate. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to effectively communicate with students, employees, and visitors. Ability to effectively collaborate with employees. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range: The wage for this position ranges from $24.83 to $30.94 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Most candidates will start at the entry-level rate of $24.83 per hour. However, experienced candidates with prior work experience in a related field may be eligible for a starting rate of up to $27.26 per hour. These decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis, in consideration of the individual's experience and the school district's budget. Benefits: Edina Public Schools provides eligible employees with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as flexible spending plans. All employees participate in the state's largest pension program, the Public Employees Retirement Association (PERA). In addition, employees can participate in the 403(b) retirement program, with eligibility for a district match based on the terms and conditions outlined in the employee work agreement. Eligible employees also receive paid time off in accordance with the provisions outlined in the employee work agreement.
