Financial AnalystLutheran Services Carolinas continues to grow and expand its programs and services, and our Finance team is also expanding to support this important work. The Financial Analyst position plays a key role in supporting the organization's financial operations through accurate accounting, reporting, and compliance activities. This role contributes to strong fiscal stewardship while upholding Lutheran Services Carolinas' mission, values, and commitment to serving individuals and communities with integrity and compassion.The Financial Analyst is primarily responsible for working with the Chief Financial Officer to perform a variety of functions related to financial analyses, accounting, and various special accounting analyses and projects for LSC affiliates and related organizations.This is an in-person position. Must be able to commute to Salisbury, NC.Essential FunctionsAnalyzes financial operations of organizationPrepares written monthly comments regarding financial operations for reports and presentations to team members and residentsDevelops annual forecasts & projectionsTranslates financial results to team members and residentsWorks on special projects and requests for financial information as requested by supervisorInterfaces with accounting staff to ensure accurate financial reportsAssists with preparation of audit work papers for annual audit as neededAssists with data accumulation for cost report preparationSelf-starter, but team playerQualificationsEducation: High School degree; B.A. degree in Business or Accounting or comparative work experienceExperience: In-depth knowledge of general ledger and financial reporting; 5 plus years in financial analysis strongly preferred. Prior experience in healthcare, social services, retirement services or nonprofit environment a plusSpecific skills/abilities: Proven ability with computers and Microsoft office products (Word, Excel, Power Point).Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:Office environment; sitting at desk and in front of computer for extended periodsAbility to bend, stoop, reach overheadLimited travel to facilitiesUnderstands the uses of office equipmentMaintains confidentialityRemains cordial and tactful with residents, families, business contacts and staffCompletes other duties as may be necessary for the orderly operation of the department.
