About the Position

Job Title: Inpatient Pharmacist Profession: Pharmacy Specialty: Pharmacist Inpatient Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 4x10-Hour Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year required License: MO state pharmacy license required (facility will accept pending, must be in process or start once offered) Certifications: BLS preferred Must-Have: - Dosing (Anticoagulation therapy, clinical dosing, geriatric dosing, high-alert med, pediatric dosing, pharmacokinetic dosing, renal dosing, therapeutic med monitoring, warfarin dosing) - Intravenous preparation (antibiotics, compounding, IV piggyback, sterile technique) - Medication dispensing systems (Pyxis, storage of medications unit dose systems) - Pharmacotherapy management for medical problems (cardiovascular, endocrine, infectious disease, pulmonary, renal) - Skills in drug shortage management Description: Locals are not allowed. There is a 60-mile radius rule, with no exceptions. First-time travelers are accepted. Experience with Meditech EMR is preferred. The start date is as soon as possible. Schedule options will be discussed during the interview process. Weekend shifts are required. Pharmacists are the only staff members in inpatient pharmacy during shift hours. Pharmacists are not expected to attend code blues or rapid responses. In addition to order verification, night shift pharmacists will work from a PharmacyOneSource queue to address any clinical alerts (pharmacokinetic/renal dosing, etc.). Patient age groups include neonates, adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. The daily census is 60. The facility has 114 beds. Weekend shifts are from 1800 to 0600, every other weekend. Expect to work some holidays.
