Join Gilead and help create possible, together.Job DescriptionReporting to Jacquie Ross, Senior Vice President, Treasurer and Head of Investor Relations (Treasurer), the Vice President, Deputy Treasurer will work closely with the Treasurer to help lead Gilead's global Treasury organization across Treasury Operations, Capital Markets, Investments, Foreign Exchange, Financial Risk Management and Liquidity Management. Leading a global team of approximately 20 professionals, this executive will oversee the day-to-day Treasury function while collaborating with the Treasurer, Chief Financial Officer and Finance leadership team to support capital allocation, optimize liquidity, strengthen risk management practices and advance Treasury's strategic priorities. The Vice President, Deputy Treasurer will also play a key role in developing the team, building organizational capability and serving as a trusted partner to the Treasurer. The role offers significant visibility across the Finance organization, including exposure to executive leadership and the Board of Directors, while partnering with the Treasurer in representing Gilead with rating agencies, banking partners, debt investors and other key external stakeholders.The Vice President, Deputy Treasurer will provide executive oversight across the full breadth of the Treasury function while helping shape its continued evolution. This executive will support Treasury modernization initiatives, enhance operational effectiveness and foster a culture of continuous improvement while ensuring the function remains well positioned to support Gilead's long-term business objectives. The role will work closely with leaders across Accounting, Tax, FP&A, InvestorRelations, Legal, Corporate Development and Internal Audit to support strategic initiatives and enterprise-wide Finance priorities.This role will be based at Gilead’s headquarters in Foster City, California.Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Treasury Operations & Liquidity ManagementOversee Gilead's global Treasury Operations, including cash management, liquidity planning, cash forecasting and banking infrastructure.Partner with the Treasurer to optimize global liquidity, funding strategies and working capital management.Continue strengthening Treasury Operations through process optimization, automation and operational excellence initiatives while maintaining a strong control environment.Capital Markets, Investments & Financial Risk ManagementPartner with the Treasurer to support capital structure planning and capital markets execution, including public debt issuances, refinancing activities and other financing initiatives.Oversee the company's investment portfolio, liquidity deployment strategies and related governance processes.Lead the enterprise foreign exchange risk management program, including hedging strategies, exposure management and related risk mitigation activities.Partner with the Treasurer in managing relationships with banking partners, rating agencies, debt investors and other external financial institutions.Treasury Transformation & Continuous ImprovementLead Treasury modernization initiatives focused on automation, AI-enabled capabilities and process improvement to enhance efficiency, scalability and decision-making.Continuously evaluate Treasury processes, technologies and controls to identify opportunities to improve effectiveness and adopt best-in-class Treasury practices.Support broader Finance transformation initiatives, including SAP optimization and other strategic projects, while ensuring Treasury remains aligned with evolving business needs.Partner across Accounting, Tax, FP&A, Investor Relations, Legal, Corporate Development and Internal Audit to support strategic initiatives and enterprise-wide Finance priorities.Team Leadership & Organizational DevelopmentLead, develop and mentor Gilead's global Treasury organization, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.Build organizational capability by developing emerging leaders, strengthening succession planning and creating opportunities for team members to broaden their responsibilities and expertise.Establish clear priorities, goals and performance expectations while ensuring the Treasury organization remains agile, responsive and aligned with the evolving needs of the business.Partner with the Treasurer to continue evolving the Treasury function, identifying opportunities to enhance organizational effectiveness and position the team for long-term success.The successful candidate will be a seasoned Treasury executive with significant experience leading a Treasury organization within a complex, multinational public company. They will bring broad Treasury leadership experience, coupled with strong financial management, analytical and strategic capabilities. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated track record of driving practical, business-oriented solutions while effectively influencing across a complex global enterprise.Gilead is seeking an experienced executive who is commercially astute, intellectually curious and comfortable operating in a highly dynamic, fast-paced environment. They will possess the maturity, executive presence and communication skills to serve as a trusted partner to the Treasurer, represent the company with external financial stakeholders and contribute effectively in executive- and Board-level settings.
