Job Title: Software Technician

Position Summary

This position is responsible for supporting the client’s onsite semiconductor fab operations by minimizing the downtime of test/manufacturing related software applications. This position will function as a system and database administrator, resolving issues across the fab data systems used by fab operators, technicians, and engineers.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop expertise in internal fab processes regarding software and database systems used to execute fab operations
• Act as a point contact to the fab workers (engineers, technicians, and operators) who use various test and manufacturing related software across the fab stations

o   Maintain and respond to fab hotline calls

o   Troubleshoot problematic software as reported by fab operators and technicians

o   Assist with new software installations, reinstallations, reconfigurations, and command line troubleshooting

o   Collaborate with software/test engineers to develop/modify software code and scripts as needed

• Help identify and drive process improvements related to the UX of the test and manufacturing related software applications

o   Document and share knowledge base of inefficient software procedures and propose improvements

o   Draft status, risk, and contingency plan reports for upper management

• Occasionally work 40+ hours in a week to meet certain team milestones
• Perform other duties as needed

 

Education and Credential Requirements

• Associate’s degree in a business or technical field
• Eligible to work in the US without RLA sponsorship for employment visa status

 

Experience Requirements

• Experience in a software/database technician role
• • Working with various off-the-shelf (or proprietary) software systems such as Workstream, SAP, ELSA, DAD, and Holmes
  • Using command line interface for troubleshooting and configuring software/firmware on test and manufacturing equipment
  • Receiving end user feedback, and being involved in change management and process improvement activities
• Experience drafting/modifying software manuals/SOPs
• Preferred experience
• • Working in a wafer fab, R&D lab, or mass production (factory) environment
  • Working with multiple operating systems e.g., Windows, Linux, Unix, etc.

 

Skills Requirements                                               

• Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently
• High proficiency using productivity software such as M365 (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Teams and SharePoint)
• Ability to use agile/scrum project/program management principles and methodologies to consistently meet task deadlines, triage changing priorities, and track issues to resolution
• Ability to collaborate across diverse teams with a customer service mindset

 

Work Environment

• The position typically operates in a standard office environment and/or from employee’s home
• Be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
