Overview
Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) in Murphysboro, Illinois. This travel assignment starts 09/07/2026 and runs for 13 weeks. Earn $1,842 to $1,962 per week for a 3x12-hour night schedule (7:00 PM–7:00 AM). The assignment is in a Critical Access Hospital with a blended Med Surg unit, including Swing Bed and occasional PCU coverage.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for adult Med Surg patients following unit protocols and standards of care
- Administer medications, monitor responses, and manage IV therapy and basic cardiac monitoring
- Perform ongoing assessments, document findings, and contribute to care plans and discharge planning
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing leadership, case management, and ancillary staff to coordinate care
- Maintain patient safety and infection control practices; ensure accurate documentation in the electronic health record
- Adapt to unit assignments across Med Surg, Swing Bed, and PCU as acuity and bed availability require (ratios: Med Surg ~1:5; Swing Bed ~1:5 to 1:6; PCU ~1:3 to 1:4 with drips)

Requirements
- Active Illinois Registered Nurse license
- Current CPR/BLS certification; ACLS certification
- 1+ year of medical-surgical and/or progressive care nursing experience
- Ability to work night shifts (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) and adapt to unit assignments (Med Surg, Swing Bed, PCU)
- Eligibility for unit-based credentialing and orientation per the notes for Med Surg, Swing Bed, and PCU
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to document accurately in the electronic health record
