Lead Software Engineer - Public Cloud & AI

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, with at least five years of applied experience
• Strong understanding of business technology drivers and their effects on architecture, performance, monitoring, and best practices
• Experience building or supporting web environments on AWS, including EC2, ELB, RDS, and S3
• Experience with cloud-based DevOps tools such as Ansible, Artifactory, Docker, GitHub, Jenkins, Kubernetes, or Maven
• Experience in one or more stages of the software development lifecycle, including design, development, or support
• Experience with monitoring solutions such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, or Datadog
• Experience writing infrastructure as code using tools such as CloudFormation or Terraform
• Experience with at least one public cloud platform, such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
• Experience automating infrastructure tasks with Python or another programming language
• Knowledge of using AI or LLM tools to support self-service diagnosis of infrastructure errors and failures
• Preferred: A proactive approach to identifying problems, improvement opportunities, and performance bottlenecks
• Preferred: An SRE mindset focused on improving production systems through engineering solutions to operational challenges

• Guide application teams as they migrate to public cloud, and help maintain platforms and resolve production incidents affecting customers, clients, and businesses worldwide
• Support and deliver a strategy for broad use of Amazon Web Services, including EC2, S3, RDS, CloudFront, EFS, CloudWatch, and EKS
• Identify ways to improve the resilience, availability, security, and performance of public cloud platforms in line with our best practices
• Improve application reliability and quality, and reduce the time needed to resolve production issues
• Measure and optimize system performance while anticipating customer needs and advancing our capabilities
• Provide primary operational support and engineering for the public cloud platform
• Debug and optimize systems, and automate routine tasks
• Work with cross-functional teams to identify production risks and improve user experiences
• Lead work streams that ensure applications meet strict non-functional requirements for public cloud onboarding
• Assess production readiness through game days, resilience testing, and chaos engineering exercises
• Use programming languages such as Java, Python, SQL, Node, Go, and Scala, alongside open-source relational and NoSQL databases, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS services
• Monitor metrics and program health, anticipate and remove blockers, and manage escalations
