Role Overview The Plant Maintenance Specialist is responsible for the planning and implementation and maintenance of equipment in the Scout Motors plant, with a focus on SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) and Material Management (MM). Responsibilities Handle new design configuration in SAP S/4 HANA for Plant Maintenance focusing on the overall site maintenance needs. Implement maintenance processes such as Corrective Maintenance, Preventive Maintenance, Emergency Maintenance (with workflow), Overhead Labor, Refurbishment Management, Project Order Maintenance, and Service Order Management with Time and Materials Billing. Support all incidents, problems and change requests related to Plant Maintenance, Quality Maintenance, Project Systems. Lead Sprint Planning, Sprint Workshops, Build, Testing, and Training for the plant maintenance workstream. Lead initial requirements sessions to gather details to support the configuration of the Plant Maintenance solution. Support and conduct all training and lead the testing sessions for Plant Maintenance. End‑to‑end business responsibility for planning the enterprise SAP PM platform. Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders (automation, maintenance, IT, industrial engineering, etc.) and external suppliers to identify tech and business needs, troubleshoot issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Define, realize, and manage reports critical to production and maintenance operations. Commissioning and acceptance: conduct availability tests, training, open points tracking, final acceptance, and lessons learned. Required Qualifications 3+ years of professional maintenance experience in industry (automotive production preferred). Minimum bachelor’s degree in engineering, IT, or another technical field. Demonstrated expertise in production/maintenance systems such as SAP or another maintenance system. Ability to adapt quickly to a complex production/IT landscape in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. Project management skills. Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail. Good communication skills. Autonomous working approach. Willingness to travel both domestic and internationally. Minimum of High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required for all roles at Scout Motors, Inc. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge and experience with Risk Management and FMEA. Ability to identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains through the implementation of IT solutions and methodologies. Experience from automotive (OEM and Tier 1). Proven skills in SAP PM and MM or another maintenance system: work order management, work notification management, capacity planning, technical objects such as equipment and functional locations, bills of materials, measuring points, work centers, task lists, maintenance plans; document management system, spare parts planning and inventory management; preventive maintenance; predictive maintenance and analytics; mobility solutions (asset manager, work manager). Location & Travel Expectations This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Blythewood, South Carolina, United States. It requires full‑time in‑office attendance with regular in‑person meetings and events. Applicants should expect the role to require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.
