Truck Driver I

Carroll County Government is looking for a dedicated individual to join their team as a Truck Driver I. This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $21.82 - $38.18 (H300) and includes various benefits such as overtime, compensatory time, on-call pay, and call-back pay. The role is located at the Maintenance Center in Westminster, MD, and reports to the Area Roads Manager.

As a team member, you will contribute to road maintenance projects, driving Class B vehicles and operating light equipment to ensure the safety and cleanliness of the County's drains and roadways.

Key responsibilities include operating equipment like skid steers, loaders, and tractors, performing storm drainage system maintenance, and ensuring a safe work environment by following safety rules. The position requires a Class B commercial driver's license, a DOT physical card, and Maryland Flagging Certification.

To succeed in this role, you should possess skills in heavy equipment operation, load securement, occupational health and safety, repair and maintenance, and hand and power tools. Your strengths in service excellence, decision making, collaboration, safety focus, quality focus, continuous learning, fostering communication, managing project execution, and planning and organizing will be essential.

Education and experience requirements include a high school diploma or GED, up to one year of related experience, and the ability to pass required vehicle and equipment tests. The position also requires working outside of standard hours and exposure to adverse weather and environmental conditions.
