Loan Operations Specialist

Launched in 2024, Sage Credit Investment Partners is both a fund manager and a non-bank real estate lender, with operations in Southern California and North Carolina. Sage Credit provides loans to private real estate investors, home builders, and other developers who typically build projects of 1–10 units, with plans to sell or rent and refinance their projects upon completion. Our loans frequently include construction draws, allowing borrowers to fully redevelop their property or renovate and/or add units to an existing property. Sage Credit’s founder, Jan Brzeski, previously founded one of the most respected companies in this industry, and his track record includes more than $3.5 billion of loans funded across more than 1,800 projects. Furthermore, he prioritized and achieved one of the highest quality loan portfolios in the industry, as measured by low defaults and very low loan losses — a disciplined approach that remains at the core of Sage Credit’s investment strategy. Position Overview Sage Credit is seeking a Loan Operations Specialist to serve as a central operational resource across the firm. This is a hands-on role at a growing company: you will be trained directly on how Sage Credit closes and services its real estate loans, and over time, you will become heavily involved in managing these processes. Loan closing and servicing are the core of the position. You will prepare and coordinate loan documentation, work alongside our title companies and third-party loan servicer, and act as a point of contact for our borrowers. Alongside that, you will provide broader operational and executive support to the firm — meeting coordination, investor-facing support for our direct lending fund, and the range of administrative work that fulfills the operational needs of a growing, fast-moving lender. The role carries a dual function: protecting our fund investors through disciplined, accurate execution, and delivering "white glove" service to our borrowers so that they return to Sage Credit for future loans and refer us within their networks. Key Responsibilities Loan Closing & Servicing Prepare and assemble loan documentation packages for new loans, loan modifications, extensions, and payoffs, ensuring accuracy and consistency with approved terms Coordinate with the title and escrow companies through closing Maintain complete, well-organized loan files and document repositories, including files associated with our fund participants Serve as the day-to-day liaison to our third-party loan servicer, ensuring new loans are boarded accurately and that servicing records reflect current loan terms Act as a point of contact for borrowers from closing through payoff, responding promptly and clearly to questions about documentation, draws, payments, and payoff requests Set accurate expectations on timing and requirements, and follow through on commitments Operational and Executive Support Schedule and coordinate internal and external meetings, including calendar management and logistics for the founder and senior team Assist with investor-facing functions for Sage Credit's direct lending fund Provide general administrative support to the founder and senior team Qualifications and Requirements Experience with the closing or servicing of real estate loans is very helpful. Our loans are "business purpose loans," which differ from consumer home loans, but experience with either commercial real estate/business purpose lending or traditional residential mortgages will be beneficial Exposure to title and escrow processes, loan documentation, or a comparable transaction-coordination role is a plus We use a variety of technology platforms. Comfort with software and online services, and a demonstrated ability to learn new systems quickly, are required. Strong document management skills are expected Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the judgment to communicate professionally with borrowers, title companies, investors, and service providers Highly organized, with the ability to manage concurrent deadlines and follow items through to completion Comfortable in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment: willing to take ownership, work without heavy structure, ask questions early, and take on tasks as needed to support business operations Discretion and sound judgment in handling confidential borrower, investor, and firm information Location and Schedule This position is based in our Westwood office, near UCLA, and requires four days per week in the office.
