Pre Process Production Operator - 2nd ShiftHATFIELD PLANT - HATFIELD, MA 01038Salary Range $18.00 Hourly Position Type Full Time Category ManufacturingResponsibilitiesThis position is responsible for preparing the chemicals used by the control department.JOB OBJECTIVES:A. OperationalWeigh incoming raw materials prior to storageRemove contents of 55 gallon drums by auger or pouring and place into a pre-mix container or toteMove tech materials from chemical storage area to the process roomTransport tote tanks from the process room to the injection room by means of forklift, pallet jack or other meansPlace tote at proper station in the injection room and hook up to the heating systemRelocate tote to the injection system for use in the process and ensure proper temperature and hook-upRemove empty totes from the injection room to the pre-process roomTriple rinse drums with a solvent or water as required prior to disposal from the chemical storage areaRecord each transactionClean mixers when necessaryResponsible for spill control and clean up as directed and in accordance with established proceduresEnsure sprays are working properly and maintainedPerform laboratory extractions and operate lab equipment to verify technical material and finished goods.Perform all other duties as assignedQualificationsA. Education and ExperienceHigh School education preferred but not requiredMust possess a valid forklift certificationBe physically capable of wearing Personal Protective Equipment including a respirator.Mechanical knowledge helpfulMust be able to work with minimal supervisionMust be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a continuous basisBasic computer literacy and operation of Microsoft ExcelB. CommunicationGood verbal communication skills and the ability to follow directionsC. Interpersonal SkillsMust be able to work in a team environmentReliable, dependable and trustworthyD. Systems SkillsMust have an understanding of powershop and be able to input data on a touch screen
