Allied Technician - Physical Therapist

Home Health Physical Therapist

The Home Health Physical Therapist is responsible for planning and administering medically prescribed physical therapy treatments for patients experiencing injuries or disorders related to muscles, nerves, joints, and bones. The objective is to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability. This role includes the following duties:

• Providing education and information to patients and caregivers.
• Participating in required discharge planning and ensuring all necessary documentation is completed according to policy.
• Guiding patient participation in selected tasks to restore, reinforce, and enhance performance.

Schedule

This position operates from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Weekend coverage is required for orthopedic cases only, with physical therapy support expected every 4th or 5th weekend.

Unit Information

• Mileage will be reimbursed at the IRS rate.
• The role typically involves 6 to 7 weighted visits per day.

Minimum Requirements

• A minimum of 1 year of experience is required, with preference given to those with home health experience.
• The unit is open to first-time travelers.
• Experience with MatrixCare or Epic is preferred but not required.

Required Certifications

• Virginia Physical Therapy State License (can be pending).
• Current CPR certification.
