The role ensures that residents receive safe, high‑quality, person‑centered care. Primary duties include supervising Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), maintaining regulatory compliance, training staff, managing labor hours, and ensuring client needs and preferences are continuously met. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Oversee the day‑to‑day operations of assigned residential programs, supervising assigned employees to ensure smooth and consistent support for clients in accordance with their care plans. Supervise, train, coach, and mentor DSPs to ensure high performance and adherence to best practices. Conduct staff counseling and corrective action, including work improvement plans. Act as a positive role model and support staff development. Ensure the health, safety, and well‑being of all clients by actively monitoring services and home environments. Develop and maintain staffing schedules to ensure adequate coverage while staying within budgeted labor hours. Prepare and post schedules in a timely manner; schedules for the following month are posted by the 15th. Follow scheduling blocks according to assigned schedules. Monitor labor hours and ensure sites operate within budgetary guidelines. Ensure a safe work environment to minimize worker’s compensation injuries and financial expenditures. Report all site injuries promptly. Participate in the development and implementation of client Individual Instruction and Support Plans (IISPs) and support plan revisions. Supervise staff interactions with persons served, promoting their rights to achieve an enhanced quality of life. Promote individuality of persons served by ensuring common living areas are tailored to each person’s personality. Follow protocols for disposal, collection, and storage of medical waste. Maintain compliance with all relevant SAILS Washington policies, DDCS requirements, and Washington State regulations. Conduct regular QA checks and client check‑ins to ensure services are delivered as planned. Observe the implementation of client rights and coach staff on choice issues. Communicate regularly with families, conservators, case managers, and other agency representatives. Monitor and report incidents, complete follow‑up documentation, and implement corrective actions. Ensure staff maintain organized and up‑to‑date documentation, including client files and training logs. Support new DSP onboarding and ongoing professional development of the team. Work in the program as direct care staff as scheduled and necessary. Respond to emergencies or staffing challenges and participate in on‑call rotation as needed. Promptly report suspected abuse and complete mandated reporting requirements. Participate in investigations involving persons served and employees as needed. Maintain confidentiality of client information and all required consents and HIPAA documents. Ensure overall health, safety, wellbeing, and quality of life for clients living in supervised homes. Ensure clients have needed personal care items, clothing, recreational items, and access to preferred activities. Accept direction from Residential Directors, Program Managers, and Coordinators. Attend scheduled meetings with agencies and homes when needed. Attend inspections and unannounced agency visits. Oversee staff training and orientation, ensuring completion of all required trainings. Monitor client support to achieve goals established in their support plans. Ensure clients’ rights are honored and choices are provided. Monitor staff to ensure clients’ funds are managed appropriately. Ensure clients receive transportation for medical appointments, therapies, work, school, and activities. Maintain overall quality of care, supervision, and safety of clients. Provide progressive discipline to DSPs with assistance from area directors. Complete initial and annual employee performance reviews. Coordinate home repair needs and ensure timely completion. Coordinate physical move‑ins and move‑outs for clients. Ensure site safety from fire, flood, and other hazards. Assess program effectiveness in achieving consumer goals by working with behaviorists. Maintain program security alarms. Train and develop staff to meet job requirements. Coordinate staff hire training and additional training with Program Management. Act as a Crisis On‑Call Responder when designated. Conduct weekly compliance checks and medication audits, reporting to the Area Director. Attend client PCSP meetings and collaborate on plan development. Maintain professional relationships with all stakeholders. Respond to client emergencies and illnesses per procedures. Maintain adequate supplies, materials, food, and emergency equipment. Maintain all required client and staff records. Submit weekly and monthly reports to Residential Area Director and Assistant Area Director, including: Weekly Administrator Report Daily Dayforce Check Medication Checks Conduct in‑service training for staff. Create agendas for monthly staff meetings. Plan and organize client in‑house activities and community outings. Ensure program operations are well organized and meet client needs. Report on supplies and maintenance needs weekly. Restock depleted agency forms. Perform other duties as assigned. Support client behavioral and physical success through observation and clinical reports. Required Education and Experience High School Diploma 2 years of experience working with clients with disabilities 3 years of supervisory experience Licensing Requirements Pass a Washington State background check First Aid/CPR Certified within 120 days of employment (training can be provided) Blood Borne Pathogen Certified within 120 days of employment (training can be provided) Obtain CPI Blue Card Ongoing Eligibility Qualifications Complete and pass the background check screening upon hire and every two years thereafter, or as requested. Maintain active NAR, CPR/First Aid, Nurse Delegation, and other required certifications. Complete a minimum of 12 hours of continuing education annually. Complete all required and assigned training.
