Travel Nurse RN - OR - Operating Room - $2,330 per week

Job Overview Position: Travel Nurse RN – OR (Operating Room) Location: Madison, Wisconsin Start Date: ASAP Duration: 22 weeks Hours per Week: 36 Shift: 12-hour days Employment Type: Travel Responsibilities Prepares the operating room by ensuring all required instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies are ready and functional for each surgical procedure Assists in positioning and preparing patients for surgery, addressing concerns and ensuring comfort and safety according to procedural requirements Makes sure a sterile field is maintained throughout surgical procedures and adheres to infection control protocols and sterile technique Anticipates the needs of the surgical team, providing instruments, supplies, and support promptly to maintain efficient workflow Monitors the patient's condition during surgery, documenting significant changes and notifying the surgeon Handles surgical instruments and supplies, ensuring proper use, sterilization, and disposal according to facility protocols Manages specimen collection, labeling, and transport according to facility protocols, ensuring accurate diagnostic results Documents all aspects of patient care in the perioperative setting accurately and thoroughly Participates in patient handoff communication during pre‑ and post‑operative phases, ensuring continuity of care Assists in cleaning and restocking the operating room between cases, adhering to infection control and turnover protocols Collaborates with the surgical team to ensure compliance with facility policies, procedures, and standards Follows hospital safety rules and procedures, including proper use of PPE and infection prevention measures Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of practice Required Qualifications One year of recent experience as an Operating Room RN Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC) Preferred Qualifications ACLS (AHA/ARC), PALS (AHA/ARC), or ENPC certifications OR Nursing Certification (CNOR) Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position Required Essential Skills Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills Ability to read, write, and communicate in English Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills Physical ability to remain stationary, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend Interpersonal skills to work effectively with a variety of personnel and present a positive attitude and professionalism Technical/motor skills to grasp, perform fine manipulation, assist with procedures, and use department equipment Mental resilience to cope with frequent contact with the public, meet deadlines under pressure, and adapt to irregular activity schedules Sensory ability requiring visual acuity and effective communication Benefits Highly competitive pay for travel professionals Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance with first‑day coverage Paid Time Off (PTO) after 1560 hours Life and short‑term disability offered 401(k) matching Refer‑a‑friend bonus program 24/7 recruiter support Reimbursement for licensure and continuing education units (CEUs) *Fusion is an EOE/E‑Verify Employer. #J-18808-Ljbffr
