This role operates similarly to a product manager for a service-based offering, owning the end-to-end lifecycle of solutions delivered by CLEAResult as a third-party program implementer.This individual leads cross-functional teams to design, launch, and refine offerings grounded in a customer-centric approach, ensuring solutions are shaped by customer needs, market dynamics, and real-world application. This role prioritizes designing solutions from customer needs first, rather than adapting existing product constructs. This role also contributes to external positioning through thought leadership, industry engagement, and direct collaboration with customers to shape emerging solutions.Key Responsibilities:Service / Product ManagementOwn the end-to-end lifecycle of one or more service offerings, including value proposition, target customers, service design, and pricingAct as the central orchestrator across BD, Delivery, Engineering, and TechnologyTranslate customer and market insights into scalable service models and implementation approachesDrive continuous improvement of existing offerings based on performance data, customer feedback, and evolving market conditionsCustomer & Market ResearchLead customer discovery and market research to inform service design and prioritizationSynthesize insights from customers, partners, and market stakeholders into actionable recommendationsTranslate research findings into externally consumable insights, including thought leadership content and client-facing materialsEnsure all offerings are developed from a customer-centric perspective, aligning solutions to real customer needs rather than predefined product constructsNew Solution Development & PilotsLead development of new service offerings and pilot programs in emerging DER use casesUse customer and market insights to define pilot hypotheses, structure, and success metricsEvaluate pilot outcomes and translate learnings into scaled, repeatable offeringsMarket Development & StrategyDevelop market entry and growth strategies across regions and customer segmentsSynthesize regulatory, market, and competitive insights into actionable recommendationsSupport development of market-facing perspectives and narratives that position CLEAResult as a leader in energy transitionSolution Design & Sales SupportLead solution development for proposals and RFPs, including program design, pricing, and performance assumptionsEnsure clear, differentiated, and customer-relevant value propositions are reflected in client-facing materialsThought Leadership & Industry EngagementLead or contribute to thought leadership content, including white papers, presentations, and insights on emerging DER and energy transition topicsRepresent CLEAResult at industry conferences, webinars, and events, presenting on market trends, solution design, and program innovationPartner with internal stakeholders to shape market-facing narratives and points of view that support business development and brand positioningLead or support client-facing innovation sessions (e.g., innovation days, workshops) to identify new opportunities and co-develop solutions with customersCross-Functional LeadershipLead cross-functional teams in a highly matrixed environmentEnsure alignment between customer needs, solution design, and delivery executionSubject Matter ExpertiseServe as an SME in DER-related solutions such as energy storage, virtual power plants, or energy market participationProvide guidance on market design, risks, and regulatory dynamicsExperience & QualificationsRequired7+ years of experience in energy, with focus on DERs, demand response, energy storage, or energy marketsExperience leading cross-functional teams to develop and launch programs or servicesBachelor’s degree in engineering, economics, energy systems, business, or related fieldStrong understanding of utility program design and implementationExperience conducting or leveraging customer and market research to inform solution developmentClient-facing experience, including presentations and solution developmentAbility to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced environmentsPreferredExperience managing a service offering in a product management capacityExperience working in a highly matrixed organizationFamiliarity with wholesale markets and DER participation modelsExperience contributing to thought leadership, conference presentations, or client-facing workshopsTraining or experience in:Product lifecycle managementDesign thinking / human-centered designLean innovationCompensation$130,000-140,000 + BonuSDOT RequirementsIf applicable, meet all DOT qualification requirements and comply with all applicable federal, state, and local transportation regulations.Compensation Range$107,900.00 - $161,900.00CurrencyUSDTypeSalaryAny offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data/ranges, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications (e.g. JD/technology), for example.CLEAResult will not provide sponsorship or support for immigration status or work authorization including for international students.
