Collections Manager

The firm recently relocated its Dallas headquarters to a new high-rise tower and maintains a strong presence in Houston, reflecting continued growth and investment. The Opportunity The Collections Manager co-manages the firm's collections function and helps elevate the sophistication of an established accounts receivable team. Partnering with an existing manager, this leader will refine collections strategy from reactive to proactive, standardize processes, and own reporting, analytics, and escalations. This is a high-visibility seat working closely with senior Finance leadership, attorneys, and firm management to protect and grow the firm's investment in client services. What You'll Do Lead and develop the collections team; set goals, coach staff, and build a culture of accountability and continuous improvement Design and execute collections strategy; standardize policies and move the function from reactive to strategic Monitor portfolio performance, flag at-risk accounts early, and manage formal escalation frameworks for high-risk matters Build collections reporting and metrics; oversee cleanup of unapplied cash and invoice discrepancies Partner with billing attorneys, section leaders, and firm committees to resolve delinquent accounts and ensure timely billing and collections Serve as a resource on collections policy and best practices across multiple offices What You Bring Currently managing a collections or accounts receivable team (required) 7+ years of progressive collections/AR experience with demonstrated people leadership Proven track record standardizing processes and improving DSO and cash flow Advanced Excel and strong billing/financial systems knowledge Excellent communication and the ability to influence senior stakeholders Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent experience Law firm or professional services experience preferred, not required Dallas or Houston, TX.
