Sr. Construction Superintendent, Piping & Plumbing

What to Expect We are seeking a highly skilled Piping and Plumbing Superintendent to lead the installation, coordination, and quality control of mechanical and plumbing systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all phases of piping and plumbing work, ensuring strict adherence to design specifications, safety protocols, and project timelines. This role requires a strong leader with advanced technical expertise and the ability to collaborate seamlessly with subcontractors, engineers, and project managers within a fast‑paced, mission‑critical environment. What You'll Do Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of piping systems (low temperature chilled water, process heating and cooling water, compressed air, process piping) and mechanical equipment (air handling units, pumps, heat exchangers) and plumbing systems (domestic, industrial, reclaimed water, sanitary sewer) Lead daily whiteboard meetings with contractors to plan work and conduct weekly safety meetings to assess safety adherence and project progress Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and other trades (electrical, structural) to integrate MEP systems into the overall project Oversee subcontractors to ensure timely completion, budget adherence, and high-quality standards Perform regular inspections to ensure piping and plumbing systems comply with blueprints, codes (ASME, ASHRAE, UPC, NFPA), and industry standards Enforce strict adherence to OSHA regulations and internal safety protocols on‑site Assist in the testing, startup, and turnover of mechanical and plumbing systems, ensuring system readiness What You'll Bring Minimum of 5 years in mechanical and plumbing construction, including 3 years in a supervisory role Strong understanding of piping, mechanical equipment, and plumbing systems Relevant certifications such as OSHA 30, journeyman/master plumber license, or piping certification are strongly preferred Proficiency in construction management software (Bluebeam) and Microsoft Office Suite Familiarity with navigating through 3D modeling software (Navisworks, Revizto, or other) Familiarity with ASME piping codes, local building codes, International Mechanical Code (IMC), Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC) Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with stakeholders Compensation and Benefits Along with competitive pay, as a full‑time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire: Medical plans and plan options with $0 payroll deduction Family‑building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both have options with a $0 paycheck contribution Company paid Health Savings Account (HSA) contribution when enrolled in the high‑deductible medical plan Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) 401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefits Company paid Basic Life, AD&D Short‑term and long‑term disability insurance (90 day waiting period) Employee Assistance Program Sick and vacation time (flex time for salary positions, accrued hours for hourly positions), and paid holidays Backup childcare and parenting support resources Voluntary benefits to include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insurance Weight loss and tobacco cessation programs Tesla Babies program Commuter benefits Employee discounts and perks program #J-18808-Ljbffr Tesla Motors, Inc.
