About the Role
The Company is in search of a strategic and dynamic professional to fill the role of Sr. Director or Vice President, Business Development. The successful candidate will be responsible for owning and leading the company's growth strategy, with a focus on identifying and capitalizing on market opportunities across a range of clean energy technologies. This includes but is not limited to, solar, energy storage, wind, and gas-fired generation. The role demands a technology-agnostic approach, superior communication skills, and a proven track record in executing acquisitions, partnerships, and strategic planning. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the power generation sector, with at least 10 years of experience in business development, deal origination, corporate development, or strategy. Key responsibilities for the role include continuously assessing the market landscape, sourcing and leading due diligence on acquisition opportunities, and partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure that the growth strategy aligns with the company's overall portfolio construction. The candidate should have a strong technical understanding of generation technologies, transmission infrastructure, and market structures, as well as the ability to structure and negotiate complex commercial deals. An entrepreneurial mindset, high ownership, and the ability to operate with ambiguity are essential, as is the maturity to represent the company's growth platform with commercial judgment in external conversations. The role also involves managing a small team and requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with a Master's degree or MBA being preferred.
