Tech - Surgical

Surgical Technician

Assists the surgical team in preparing and maintaining sterile fields for operative procedures, ensuring efficient and safe surgical environments. Supports surgeons by passing instruments, supplies, and medications, and performs technical tasks related to surgical support.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare for each surgical case by verifying and assembling necessary supplies and equipment.
• Maintain a sterile field throughout surgical procedures, adhering to aseptic techniques.
• Pass instruments, supplies, and medications to surgeons in a timely manner during operations.
• Clean and sterilize equipment and facilities post-procedure, ensuring readiness for future cases.
• Transport patients and perform housekeeping duties as needed to support OR operations.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure accurate counts of instruments, sponges, needles, and blades.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED required; Associate's or Technical Degree preferred.
• Minimum of six months OR experience or completion of a Scrub Tech course required.
• Certified Surgical Technician certification preferred.
• Current BLS certification from an approved vendor required.
• Must have at least two years recent experience supporting orthopedic, total joint, GYN, and general surgeries.
