Biologist for AI Training (PhD)

Role Overview

Apply advanced biology expertise to help train and evaluate next-generation AI systems. You will provide rigorous, real-world scientific input that improves how models learn, reason, and perform. Prior AI experience is not required.

Key Responsibilities

• Critically assess biology-related data, prompts, and content used in AI development workflows, providing detailed feedback.
• Create, review, and refine scientific scenarios, questions, and explanations based on complex real-world biological problems.
• Provide expert insight to strengthen the accuracy, relevance, and depth of biology training datasets and system outputs.
• Work with project teams to resolve ambiguities and improve data quality, coverage, and representation of biological subject matter.
• Document findings, methods, and rationale to support transparent, reproducible deliverables.
• Participate in iterative reviews and evaluations that improve AI capabilities in biology.
• Share knowledge with interdisciplinary experts to enrich project outcomes.

Qualifications

• PhD in biology or a closely related life-science discipline.
• Strong command of core biological principles and the ability to explain complex topics to varied audiences.
• Excellent written and verbal scientific communication skills.
• Experience analyzing scientific data, critically evaluating research, and synthesizing complex subject matter.
• Ability to work independently and consistently deliver high-quality work within defined project frameworks.
• Strong attention to detail, consistency, scientific rigor, and accuracy.
• Experience contributing to interdisciplinary scientific or technology-focused projects is preferred. Exposure to AI is helpful but not required.

Work Terms

• Remote independent-contractor engagement.
• Work is task-based, and the time needed to complete assignments varies by experience and workflow.
• Minimum submission requirements apply, including a minimum number of tasks per week.
• Roles are typically filled within 48 hours. Selected candidates should be ready to begin their first tasks within 24 to 48 hours after completing required onboarding.

Compensation

• Compensation is listed at $80 to $90 per hour.
• Payment is output-based and issued for tasks that meet project specifications.
