Surgery on the GO is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Physician Assistant to join our team in a full-time capacity within our vibrant surgical center located in Miami, Florida. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with a board-certified general surgeon, participating in the comprehensive management of patients throughout various stages of surgical care, including preoperative assessments, intra-operative assistance, and postoperative follow-ups.

Key Responsibilities

As a Physician Assistant, your daily responsibilities will encompass a variety of tasks aimed at enhancing patient care within our general surgery practice:

• Conduct preoperative evaluations by assessing patient health history, performing physical examinations, and ordering appropriate diagnostic tests.
• Assist in the operating room, supporting the surgical team with procedures while maintaining a focus on patient safety and efficiency.
• Perform daily rounds in the surgical unit, ensuring comprehensive monitoring of postoperative patients to facilitate timely interventions.
• Manage patient discharges and admissions, collaborating with nursing staff to streamline processes and improve overall patient flow.
• Provide education to patients regarding pre and postoperative care, ensuring they understand their treatment plans and recovery expectations.
• Document patient encounters in compliance with institutional policies and best practices, maintaining meticulous records to support continuity of care.
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings to review patient cases and contribute to improving surgical protocols and practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a varied patient population, encompassing individuals requiring elective, urgent, and emergent surgical interventions. Our center prioritizes a patient-centered approach, with the goal of ensuring convenience, safety, and high satisfaction rates among our patients.

Qualifications

Candidates must meet the following qualifications to be considered for this role:

• Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies.
• Board certification as a Physician Assistant.
• Current state licensure as a Physician Assistant in Florida.
• Possession of a valid DEA License.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to obtain Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification within 12 months of hire.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, the following experiences will enhance your candidacy:

• A minimum of two (2) years of advanced practice experience in a surgical or hospital medicine setting.
• Experience as a first assistant in the operating room, particularly with laparoscopic and robotic surgical techniques.
• Previous experience handling emergencies and acute surgical cases.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $140,000 to $180,000 per year, commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package. Our benefits include:
