Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive, thorough patient examinations while reviewing their medical histories to evaluate health conditions accurately.
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory work and imaging studies, ensuring precise and timely results.
• Diagnose and treat a variety of acute illnesses and injuries, providing immediate care and developing appropriate treatment plans.
• Create and implement detailed management plans for patients with chronic health issues, working closely with interdisciplinary teams to optimize their care.
• Prescribe medications according to established guidelines, monitoring patient response and adjusting treatment as necessary.
• Maintain meticulous patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and enhancing the quality of care.
• Educate patients and their families regarding health conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures to foster informed healthcare decisions.
• Engage in proactive health promotion by advising patients on lifestyle changes and preventive practices.
• Participate in continuous professional development activities to stay current with medical advancements and refine clinical skills.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily serves a diverse patient population, including individuals presenting with urgent medical needs ranging from minor injuries to chronic disease flare-ups. You will engage with patients of all ages, understanding their unique healthcare challenges and providing culturally competent care that respects their values and preferences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physician Assistant studies or related field is required; must possess a valid PA-C license and DEA number.
• Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessment and diagnosis, along with robust knowledge of acute and chronic care practices.
• Strong understanding of healthcare regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality is essential.
• Exceptional communication skills are a must to facilitate interaction with patients, families, and a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Ability to operate effectively in high-pressure situations while maintaining a calm and patient-centered approach.
• Demonstrated teamwork ethos with a positive attitude to foster collaboration within the healthcare team.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience as a Physician Assistant in an urgent care, emergency department, or similar fast-paced clinical environment.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from $140,000 to $180,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
