Work Environment

The Urgent Care department operates onsite within a modern hospital setting, providing state-of-the-art facilities and resources to support our medical team. You will work alongside board-certified physicians, nurses, and administrative personnel who are committed to a culture of teamwork, respect, and continuous improvement. The clinic operates primarily during the evenings, with a typical schedule set for Monday to Friday, starting at 5:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient examinations and meticulously review medical histories to assess health conditions.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as blood tests and X-rays, to inform clinical decision-making.
• Diagnose and implement treatment plans for acute illnesses, managing cases ranging from infections to minor injuries.
• Formulate care plans for chronic health conditions, detailing patient-specific goals and management strategies.
• Prescribe and monitor medications, evaluating patient responses and ensuring therapeutic effectiveness.
• Maintain accurate and organized electronic health records, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
• Educate patients and their families on various health topics, encouraging preventive measures and healthy lifestyle choices.
• Promote a patient-centered approach by advocating for the overall health and well-being of our patient community.
• Participate in ongoing professional development, staying current with advancements in healthcare practices and techniques.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Urgent Care clinic serves a diverse demographic, including individuals of all ages, from children to seniors, who present with various medical conditions requiring immediate attention. Our focus is on delivering culturally competent care and fostering strong patient-provider relationships to enhance trust and communication.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant studies is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• Active Physician Assistant license (PA-C) in the state of Florida.
• Possession of a valid DEA number is required for prescribing medications.
• Proven experience in a clinical setting, specifically in urgent care, emergency room, or hospital environments.
• Solid understanding of patient care regulations and healthcare standards.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, essential for effective engagement with patients and colleagues.
• A strong commitment to ethical medical practices and patient-centered care.
• Ability to remain calm and effective during high-pressure situations.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in primary and acute care management.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a healthcare team.

Compensation and Benefits
